Quality Assurance
As the focus shifts from Government intervention to Industry self regulation in the Fruit
and Vegetable Industry, Quality Assurance will continue to increase in importance.
Ausmarket Consultants can provide a QA Audit point at the time of arrival at the Market as
an integral part of any overall QA strategy and will tailor services to meet the needs of
individual QA Manuals.
Independent Inspections
We are able to provide experienced, independent arbitrators in the case of disputes,
particularly those disputes which relate to the quality of produce.
By examining produce on behalf of producers or wholesalers we are able to provide a first
hand account of the situation and can advise on the best course of action to be followed.
If refurbishment is required we are able to supervise that operation and monitor the level
of wastage. Our intervention on behalf of growers will save time and travel expenses.
Assessments
It is possible to have individual lines of produce examined and compared to
similar lines on offer on the day. Our Report indicates those areas where additional
attention might be required or the aspects of packing or presentation which might be
resulting in lower returns. We are also able to evaluate the line in relation to the days
quoted prices.
Outturn Inspections
Our Consultants are able to examine produce on arrival on a routine basis or in specific
instances. This service provides protection to producers or traders who are experiencing
problems related to transportation or handling and is designed to verify the condition of
produce on arrival. We record pulp temperatures and any signs of damage to the product or
packaging.
Pre-consignment Inspections
This service is available to traders who are consigning or re-consigning produce from the
Terminal Markets. We document the quality of the produce at the time of dispatch together
with pulp temperatures and notes on the condition and suitability of packaging. This
record can save claims after arrival or those resulting from transportation damage.
Export Superintendence
Our independent services are available to exporters and their insurers to verify the
condition of produce at the time of container stuffing. Our Report includes notes on the
type of stowage, condition and pulp temperature of the produce and the condition and
suitability of packaging. A similar service is available at the time of unloading.
Loss Assessment
Our service to producers, traders and insurers provides independent verification of the
extent of any loss incurred during the handling and storage of produce. We are able to
support our findings with documentary evidence of the value of the product at the time.
Logger Recovery
We can recover temperaturing monitoring devices (Loggers) within the Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth Markets as requested. We have software on hand for most commercial brands of loggers that are in regular use and can usually download the data and send it to you to avoid delays.
